Met up with Tina for dinner at Michael Anthony’s yesterday evening. She’s moving away from NYC, and it was nice to do some catching up. Plus, I’m always a fan of enjoying the Manhattan skyline at sunset while sipping on wine!
John and I had visited Michael Anthony’s for brunch sometime ago. The brunch buffet was fine for the price, but they have mixed reviews when it comes to dinner. I lowered my expectations slightly and found the Cavatellini with Mushrooms, Spinach, and Truffle Oil ($20) fairly tasty. Probably needed a bit more salt. I believe the sauce was a cream and truffle oil mixture. It was a pretty rich dish and paired nicely with the riesling I ordered. Afterwards, we ordered Bailey’s on the rocks for dessert.
