Maison Kayser is an artisanal French bakery with locations throughout Manhattan. I recently visited the Flatiron location for coffee with friends. Cute space, and it’s fun that the staff are dressed like mimes.
The savory dishes, especially the tartines (open faced sandwiches), sounded tasty, but I opted for something sweet as a Friday afternoon treat. The raspberry tart ($6.50) was good, but the pastry shell was quite hard, making it messy to eat. Don’t forget to stop by the bakery section to feast your eyes on all the pastries. We also tasted a sample of yummy white chocolate bread. I’m going to have to come back here for lunch/brunch!
