Last Tuesday, I attended another tasting event hosted by Tabelog. I missed their previous event, which turned out to be a prosciutto party, so it’s for the best that I missed it. This time, it was a gelato and macaron tasting at Amorino in Chelsea.
While we sipped on prosecco, twelve different flavors of gelato were being passed around. I missed a couple flavors, but overall, everything was delicious. My favorites were the salted caramel, chocolate, stracciatella, and strawberry. I wasn’t able to get many photos as it was hot and the gelato was melting quickly. On top of that, everytime I tried to get a photo, I ended up with gelato all over my phone! Classy, very classy indeed.
Later in the evening, there was a blind gelato tasting, and the staff also showed us how to make gelato roses. I only watched as I couldn’t eat anymore gelato at that point, but next time I’m at the grocery store, I’ll have to get some cones to try making my own ice cream roses at home. We ended the evening with excellent gelato filled macarons. What a treat!
As always, Tabelog knows how to throw a good party. Check out their Facebook album for proof! Thanks so much for a fun night of bubbly and dessert. I just realized that Amorino also has a location in Greenwich Village, so guess who will be back for more gelato soon?
