Kraverie, Jersey City

Kraverie, Jersey CityWe stopped at Kraverie for lunch during our big Jersey City parks walk. Located near the Grove St PATH, Kraverie is one of many restaurants we’ve been meaning to try. Their menu offers sweet and savory crepes, Korean BBQ, and Korean tacos and burritos. Almost everything is under $10, and I believe this place is BYOB!

I’ve been craving Korean food lately and thought I had my heart set on bibimbap, but once I saw the crepe options, I changed my mind. It’s been so long since I’ve had crepes!Vegetarian Crepe, Jersey CityVegetarian crepe ($7.50) with monterey jack cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, avocado, pesto, spinach, and roasted red peppers. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, John and I started talking about the crepes place on my block back in Pittsburgh. Kraverie wasn’t quite as good, but for the price, I can’t complain. The crepe was thin and light, and the filling was quite tasty. I liked that they included pesto in there. The olive oil from the pesto added a burst of flavor. I wish the spinach had wilted a little more though.

Even though it was a bit chilly out, John ordered ice cream with his sweet crepe. Cheesecake crepe ($6) with cheesecake, nutella, strawberries, graham crackers, and ice cream (+$2). For the longest time, we sat there in silence, completely focused on our crepes. John was so enthused about his cheesecake crepe, he accidentally inhaled a little powered sugar. Oops! Cheesecake Crepe, KraverieI know we will be back to Kraverie! Next time, I’ll have to get the bibimbap, and maybe even the kimchee cheese fries?! They have a $15 delivery minimum; I’ll have to check to see if they deliver to where we live.
