Cabo Wabo Cantina, Vegas

Cabo Wabo CantinaSince our move from San Francisco to New York City, there’s been a lot less Mexican food in my life. Sadness! For our Vegas trip, we placed Mexican food high on the “to eat” list, but didn’t feel the need to go out of our way to find authentic Mexican food. Honestly, as long as there’s a good margarita, I’m a happy girl! ;)

We had lunch at Cabo Wabo Cantina at the Miracle Mile Shops by Planet Hollywood. The outdoor seating in the sunshine was definitely a huge draw. Still a bit chilly in the shade, but they had heat lamps in the outdoor area. Bonus: there was a decent view of the Bellagio fountains that were just across the street!

It may be a Mexican food chain, but I thought the food was fine. The salsa had a smoky flavor, and the guacamole ($8.95) was good. We also shared a cheese crisp ($9.95), which was similar to a cheese quesadilla. Crispy flour tortilla with a blend of cheeses and topped with guacamole and pico de gallo. You can never have too much guacamole!

The sun was shining, the Vegas Strip was bustling, and my margarita was refreshing. Who knew that this was how I would kick off Thanksgiving this year!
