Date night at VP2! John ordered the Shanghai Tofu Steak Sizzling Platter ($9.95). Two large tofu steaks served with mixed vegetables in a spicy soy ginger sauce. I’ve tried their tofu steaks before. A bit too chewy for me, but John really enjoyed it. The ginger sauce was quite good.
I ordered the Spicy Shiitake Mushroom Vegetarian Duck ($10.95). Vegetarian roast duck served with peppered shittake mushroom and mixed vegetables. Their veggie duck was more like layered tofu instead of wheat gluten. Tasty and tender, but not mushy. The veggies, especially the celery, were good with the peppered mushroom sauce. I’m glad this dish wasn’t too salty. It annoys me when restaurants add a ton of salt and MSG to compensate for the lack of meat.
