When we first moved to Jersey City, he had been eyeing a burger birthday cake at the grocery store for quite some time. Unfortunately, by the time John&#8217;s birthday rolled around, the pastry chef that specialized in the burger cake no longer worked there. No burger cake for John, so we settled for veggie burgers instead.<\/p>\n<p>This year, we continued that traditional at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blossomdujour.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Blossom du Jour<\/a>. I&#8217;ve visited several of the Blossom cafe locations, but I have no clue why it took me so long to try their casual, fast food eateries. 100% vegan, and there are several locations, including a bakery, throughout Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>In honor of National Cheeseburger Day, I had to get The Skyscrapper ($8.75), of course. Soy patty, v-bacon, v-cheese, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, pickles. Tasty and almost too big for my mouth. John ordered the Seitan Philly Cheese Steak ($9.50), a messy mix of seitan, peppers, onions, v-cheese, and chipotle aioli that was impossible to photograph.
