I recently discovered these photos on my iPhone from when we had brunch at <a title=\"Picante\" href=\"http:\/\/picantemexicancuisine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Picante<\/a> for John\u2019s birthday back in September. One of the first restaurants we\u2019ve visited in our neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>We had a $40 restaurant.com coupon, so we had to order A LOT of food. 3 entrees and 2 drinks. Plenty of leftovers! The inside of this restaurant was pretty awful. Dark, dingy, kind of disgusting. It was a bit chilly outside, but I was happier at an outdoor table.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first time I had fresh guacamole since moving to NYC. I love avocados and guacamole. I ordered the chicken chalupas: home made thick corn tortilla with chicken, red sauce, onions, monterrey cheese, and avocado. (Hmm, maybe I should dig up honeymoon food photos and post here?) But Picante is not bad for a neighborhood restaurant. Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, and I\u2019m pretty sure they deliver too. Can\u2019t really complain.
