A few weeks ago, one of my best friends since high school was in NYC for a few days. Cassie and I have not seen each other for almost 3 years! There was lots of catching up to do, and a besties lady date was in order. Pure Food & Wine<\/a> was the perfect setting for our very romantic, lol, reunion.
\n\"Pure<\/a>Cassie was about 30 minutes late, which gave me some time to enjoy a tasty cocktail at the bar. That\u2019s the Dragonfly ($13) pictured above. Dragonfruit, pineapple, basil, lemonade, and sake. A bit like a mojito, but with different flavors.
\n\"Pure<\/a>The staff at Pure Food & Wine deserve a special mention for being so accommodating. The service is always excellent, but they went out of their way for us. We sat outside in the garden for a while before migrating inside for our meal as it was too chilly to spend the entire meal outside. They transferred us from one table to another with no fuss.<\/p>\n

Whenever I come here, I want to order EVERYTHING! The space is beautiful, and the food looks and tastes beautiful. Cassie and I ordered the Philly roll of avocado, kim chee, creamy cashew cheese ($19) to share. It came with an addictive sweet chili sauce. Oh yum. Always wanted to try this, but John isn\u2019t a sushi guy. He\u2019s missing out!
\n\"Philly<\/a>I finally tried the zucchini and heirloom tomato lasagna ($24) with basil pistachio pesto, sun-dried tomato marinara, macadamia pumpkin seed ricotta. Gorgeous presentation and yummy flavors. This was the first time I\u2019ve had a raw food lasagna. Surprisingly rich. The sauces were wonderful on their own, but good when enjoyed together too.
\n\"Zucchini<\/a><\/strong>After my first cocktail, I ordered the Master Cleanse Tini ($13). Didn\u2019t get a photo of this concoction of lemon, maple syrup, and sake with a dash of cayenne pepper, but it was the best cocktail I\u2019ve had in a long time. The hint of cayenne was perfection.<\/p>\n

Cassie ordered the portabella mushroom ($23) with cauliflower and horseradish aioli, kale chimichurri, mango salsa, BBQ sauce, and haricots verts. I had a bite of the portabella mushroom, and it was packed with a rich BBQ flavor. Good stuff.
