The last couple weeks have been rough. When John returned from his trips, he brought home airport germs (yuck!!!) that got us both sick. I wanted to make a big meal for Chinese New Year, but just couldn’t make that happen with all the sniffles and coughing. By the weekend, we were mostly back to normal… good enough for a well deserved date night. John picked LITM<\/a> as our surprise dinner location!\"LITM<\/a>LITM, Love is the Message, is a laid back restaurant\/bar\/art gallery in the heart of Jersey City. What I love about going out in Jersey City, especially the Grove St area, is how everything has a cool, trendy vibe, but it’s not packed like most of NYC. LITM was no different. A casual, but intimate setting for date night or catching up with friends. Plus, there’s art all around so you have conversation starters if necessary. \"LITM<\/a>They have Happy Hour deals on weekdays, and Rock and Bubbly Saturdays ($7 for rocks or bubbly cocktails). I enjoyed the Kir Royale, and John also tried the Mango-mosa.<\/p>\n

We shared a large Mac & Cheese ($15). Vermont cheddar, a dash of nutmeg, a touch of truffle oil. I kept quiet about the truffle oil until we finished eating, since John is not a mushroom man, but he didn’t notice it! I could definitely taste it though. Yum!\"LITM<\/a>We also shared the Veggie Burger Sliders ($10). Homemade split pea veggie patties topped with crispy onions. I enjoyed these quite a bit. Sliders have become my new favorite thing.
