Portland’s Cider Riot!<\/a> recently introduced its first multi-pack canned hard cider: the Everyday Semi-Dry Cider. It’s fitting that it’s called Everyday as it offers crisp and tropical ripe apple flavor with just the right touch of sweetness for easy drinking. Everyday is also vegan, gluten-free, and raw (not pasteurized). The packaging features the Tilikum Crossing bridge in a classic, but trendy look that’s reminiscent of Timber’s Army gear. And of course, you can find Everyday at stadium next time you catch a Timber’s game.<\/p>\n

I recently attended a media preview for Cider Riot! Everyday at their taproom and production facility on NE Couch St. Unless you’re seeking it out specifically, you might miss the Cider Riot! taproom tucked away in here. Much like their refreshing cider, the taproom has an approachable, handmade feel. In addition to the Everyday, I tasted several of the other ciders on tap, all of which were delicious. However, the Fresh Cherries for Rotting A Democracy was especially interesting with its cherry coconut flavor. I recommend doing a tasting if you find yourself here, and if you’re lucky, you might get to chat with their cider maker Angie Watkins.<\/p>\n

After 13 years of cider making in his garage, Cider Riot! founder Abram Goldman-Armstrong<\/span><\/span> finally found a larger home for his cider production in August 2016. Abram was on hand to greet everyone, share stories of his early cider making days (sneaking apples out of cafeterias!), and answer questions about the Everyday. It’s not everyday (hah!) that you have an opportunity to stand among gigantic tanks filled with cider and sip cider just two days after it had been canned. Abram also brought out special limited production ciders, including the Black Bloc limited release series that had been aged in Tequila barrels to increase its intensity. It had a rich smell and flavor that I would never associate with cider. Needless to say, this visit converted me into a Cider Riot! fan.<\/p>\n
