We\u2019ve decided to take a break from ramen (hard to believe, I know) and will be exploring soba in 2013. Naturally, <a title=\"Sobaya\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sobaya-nyc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Soba-ya<\/a> was first on the list. Located a couple blocks away from <a title=\"Ippudo\u00a0NY\" href=\"http:\/\/letsnomnom.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/15\/ippudo-ny\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ippudo<\/a>, I suspect soba-ya is a popular backup for noodle fanatics. The menu was almost overwhelming. We started with some tempura. No shrimp, just veggies for me. Fresh veggies and a light crispy batter. What\u2019s there not to love? <a href=\"http:\/\/letsnomnom.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/01\/15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2628\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wazwu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/15.jpg?w=584&amp;h=438\" alt=\"Soba-ya - Tempura\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" \/><\/a>Angela ordered the Kamo Seiro Soba ($16). The soba was cold, but the duck dipping sauce was hot. The broth was too salty to drink on its own, but was quite lovely with the soba and veggies. Very comforting on a chilly winter\u2019s day.
