We showed up around 2pm on a Saturday\u2026 bad idea. It was packed! Oh, and make sure you\u2019re in the mood to tolerate lots of excited children. It\u2019s a very popular spot for families. John and I were originally planning on visiting the Global Kitchen exhibit, but once we saw how crowded the museum was, we decided just to stick to the regular exhibits. Maybe we\u2019ll make another trip for Global Kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>When our feet were tired and sore, we stopped by <a title=\"Blossom\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blossomnyc.com\/cafeblossom.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Blossom<\/a> for an early dinner. We\u2019ve been craving their food ever since our <a title=\"Blossom, Upper West\u00a0Side\" href=\"http:\/\/letsnomnom.wordpress.com\/2012\/12\/17\/blossom-upper-west-side\/\" target=\"_blank\">last visit<\/a>. John insisted on getting the Southern Seitan Sandwich again, and I wanted to try some appetizers.<\/p>\n<p>Black Eyed Pea Cake ($8) with yukon potatoes, red pepper coulis and chipotle aioli. Yummy. I loved the subtle spiciness from the red pepper coulis. Blossom is an organic vegan restaurant, so their aioli was free of egg yolks. Huge chunks of chewy seitan in a tangy sauce. Getting sweet potato fries instead of regular french fries was an excellent decision. Amazing. They\u2019re very generous with the caramelized onions and avocado.
