We rode the train to 72nd, then walked the rest of the way to 89th street. I haven\u2019t visited this area in a while, and it was nice to be back. We met John at Candle Cafe West for dinner. This was my 3rd visit, which seems like a lot considering how many restaurants there are in NYC. What can I say, it is one of my favorites. John ordered the Cajun Seitan Sandwich ($16) again! Grilled focaccia, cajun crusted seitan, red onions, avocado, kale and ancho-chili aioli, field green salad. The seitan cutlets are very generously sized and quite tasty too. Cassie ordered the Morel Crusted Tofu ($20) with sauteed spring vegetables and a truffled cauliflower puree. Lovely plating. I always love how peas add a beautiful pop of green. The tofu was great, but that cauliflower puree was simply divine. I almost ordered one of the mushroom specials, but changed my mind at the last minute and ordered the Seitan Piccata ($23) instead.
