Chang suggested Tartine, an adorable French bistro in the heart of West Village, that was somehow able to seat our table of 6 immediately. Bonus: this place is true BYOB with no corkage fee! Wild Mushroom Strudel ($11) with celery root remoulade and porcini vinaigrette. Lovely presentation, very tasty. The celery root remoulade was light and refreshing. Picked this over the onion tart, and it did not disappoint. Homemade potato gnocchi ($9) with brussel sprout leaves and smoked mozzarella. The gnocchi was so soft… it just melts in your mouth. 3/4 of my gnocchi had a light, golden color from pan searing, while the other 1/4, unfortunately, was burnt. Delicious, but very rich dish. No idea how anyone could eat the full size in one sitting. John also got the potato gnocchi, as well as the french onion soup ($7). The soup was topped with so much ooey gooey cheese! I didn’t order dessert, but grabbed a photo of Ken’s apple tarte tatin. Pretty, isn’t it? Save"}
