The Delancey Street location is teensy tiny and had a 30-minute wait when we arrived. They referred us to the Kenmare location (no wait!) and even called ahead to let them know we were on our way over. I believe the Kenmare location has more on their menu. We scored bar seats with a view of the kitchen! Appetizer #1: Moro Tofu ($5). Marinated/fermented tofu, moro miso, daikon radish, shiso leaf. I’ve never had such creamy tofu. Sticky yam and daikon radish wrapped in nori. Sticky yam is a strange thing, but oh so tasty. Angela’s warm Kashiwa Soba ($12). Chicken soba with a thick, almost gravy-like soup. The soup looked really warm and inviting. I ordered the warm Sansai Vegan Soba ($12?). Soba noodles, bamboo, flowering fern, mushrooms, kitsune tofu, deep fried tempura bites and scallions in a heartwarming bonita broth. Looked amazing and tasted even better. No meat, but the toppings more than made up for it. I want a bowl of […]"}
