Elevation designed the ShuRen International School in Berkeley, CA. I was responsible for designing four floral window decals for the interior classroom windows and exterior decals to cover the large windows facing University Avenue.

Peach, bamboo, pine, plum window decals.

The interior decals match the themes of the classrooms: peach, bamboo, pine, plum. These four plants are considered auspicious in Chinese culture, and I researched common Chinese illustration techniques as part of my design exploration. The floral decals are to be cut out from a translucent material and applied to windows with the intention of providing some privacy without completely eliminating views into the classrooms.

The exterior bamboo decal provides privacy from pedestrians, but still allows ample sunlight to enter space. The bamboo facade also creates a distinct street presence for the school.
